Introduction

The named person who makes the booking must be one of the guests who stays. She or he must be over 18 years old. This person is responsible for making sure that the terms of booking are adhered to. 

Each yurt has a maximum occupancy number, which you must stick to, unless otherwise agreed with us in advance.

Any booking of three or more people of the same sex will need the owners’ agreement before a booking is made (unless they are members of the same family, but from different generations).

We can cater for group bookings, and welcome parties, wedding events, corporate bookings and most other group events. However, in order to ensure privacy and peace for our guests, we will only take group bookings for the entire site.

We reserve the right to refuse a booking, but of course treat everyone equally and fairly. 

The property is let strictly for holiday use and no ‘right to remain’ exist for the guest or anyone in the party.

Website Accuracy

Whilst every care is taken to ensure that the details in this website, including any promotional emails, are correct at time of being published, we cannot accept responsibility for errors contained therein or results thereof. We are not responsible to you for unforeseen events or matters over which we have no control.

While we do our best to ensure that all offer information is up to date and accurate, very occasionally some advertised short breaks in certain accommodation may not always be available on all the dates advertised. Please enquire when booking.

Online Booking

Please check all personal details at the time of booking. We cannot take responsibility for booking or personal detail errors. All address and contact information must be correct at the time of booking for a successful payment to be processed. In the event of an unsuccessful payment we reserve the right to cancel your holiday if payment is not received within 7 working days.

All communications are sent via an automatic email server and rely on a valid email address being supplied. We cannot take responsibility for loss of communication e.g. booking confirmation emails etc… if contact information is incorrect. We will make every effort to supply you with the relevant booking confirmations and receipts.

Communicating with you

We carry out most communication with you by email. We tend to phone only in emergency or if we can’t get you by email. We’ll keep your details on record, but only basic information will be passed on to housekeepers (name and emergency phone number). We promise never to pass information on to other companies. We will only email offers and updates about Blackdown Yurts a few times a year, and of course we’ll take you straight off our mailing list if you ask us to.

How to Pay

 All payments need to be made in pounds sterling.

At the time of booking you can either:
Pay in full, including any extras you have requested.
Pay 50% deposit, to secure your booking, with the remaining 50% due 6 weeks (42 days) before your arrival.

The easiest way to pay for your holiday is online, through our secure payment system. If you pay by credit card, your card provider may charge you a fee, but there is no fee for paying by debit card. 

We will notify receipt of all payments, by email. It is also possible to pay by cheque, please enquire.

Cancellations & Refunds

If you have to cancel, the following charges will be made:
0 – 13 days from holiday start date 100% of total accommodation cost
 (no refund given)
14 – 27 days from holiday start date 75% of total accommodation cost
 (25% refund given)
28 – 41 days from holiday start date 60% of total accommodation cost (40% refund given)

42 - 55 days from holiday start date 50% of total accommodation cost (50% retained, 50% refund given only if full balance has already been received by us)
56 days or more from holiday start date, we will refund any monies paid less a £50 administration fee only.

Force majeure

Blackdown Yurts cannot be held liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but not be limited to) war, terrorism, riots or civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, health risks or such similar events ("Force Majure"). 

We strongly recommend that you have holiday insurance. Your insurance should cover all risks including cancellation, accident, breakdown, loss or damage to personal property. 

Non-availability

In the event that the yurt you have booked becomes unavailable for reasons within our control, we will make every reasonable effort to arrange suitable alternative accommodation. If this is not possible, or is not acceptable to you, all rental monies paid in advance will be refunded in full and you will have no further claim against Blackdown Yurts, or the owner of the property.

Damages

Our guests tend to be careful and we appreciate this very much. Sometimes accidents happen, and we ask that you let us know about any accidental breakages straight away (by phone, text or email) so that we can arrange repairs/replacements before the next guests arrive. Please don’t try to fix things yourselves (for example washing throws which can, and do, shrink)… we’d rather know, and deal with things later.

The Yurt Descriptions

We make every effort to describe yurts and facilities as accurately as possible, and to keep information up-to-date, and work closely with owners to ensure this. Details are given in good faith and we cannot accept responsibility or liability for differences or for any disappointment caused where a guest has differing expectations to those detailed in the description.

Standards

We take pride in our accommodation, and maintain facilities to a high standard, however sometimes things do break down or malfunction. Please let us know straight away, by phone, text or email if something isn’t working, and we will make every effort to sort it out straight away.

Changeover Days

Please note that all changeovers are a Monday or a Friday unless stated otherwise. If you are visiting for a short break or long weekend we will make special arrangements for you.

Arrival & Departure Times

We request that you arrive at or after 4.30pm on the first day of your stay, and depart by 10am on the last day. This is to make sure that our housekeepers have enough time to prepare for the next guests.

Dogs

One or two well-behaved dogs may accompany you during your stay at Blackdown Yurts. Please note:

• Dogs MUST be kept on a lead and under control AT ALL TIMES while on site.
• There may be livestock in close proximity to the yurt field so if this will be a problem for your dog please do not bring them.
• We expect you to clean up after your dog and dispose of faeces responsibly in the bins provided in the car park
• Please do not allow your dogs to upset or annoy other guests (or their dogs). If your dog barks excessively or uncontrollably, they will not be welcome.
• Dogs are not permitted on beds or sofas.
• Please bring a dog towel to clean their paws before entering the yurts to help keep the carpets clean.
• There is an additional charge of £10 per dog per stay. Simply select the number of dogs you will be bringing in the add-on section when booking online.
• Dogs that are not under control will be asked to leave.

The policy of allowing dogs will be reviewed constantly and may be revoked at any time.

Smoking

We have a no smoking rule for all our yurts. We ask you not to smoke inside any yurt, shed or outbuildings. Should you smoke outside, please clear any smoking litter.

Safety & Security during your stay

The yurts are located in a rural environment, with uneven ground, steep slopes, trees and ponds. In addition, there are wood burning stoves, candles, lighters & matches, open fires and BBQs. The yurts and the field kitchen are equipped with sharp kitchen knives. Please have fun, but also be aware of the risks and supervise and advise children accordingly. We cannot take responsibility for injury however caused.

Amendments to these Terms & Conditions

Blackdown Yurts reserves the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised Terms & Conditions shall be posted on this website immediately.
