Blackdown Yurts are situated on the outskirts of Kentisbeare village near Cullompton, Devon. With close links to the M5 and the A30/A303 it’s really easy to get yourself to our spot in the Blackdown Hills without too much fuss. We have great public transport links in the area with Tiverton Parkway train station just 15 minutes away, Honiton station 20 minutes away and National Express coaches coming into nearby Tiverton and Exeter.
We are situated down quite a few lanes so please print out our directions as, although it is relatively simple to reach, the last few miles can be quite tricky and satellite navigation may well take you in the wrong direction!
We recommend you DO NOT use satnav. Blackdown Yurts is shown in the correct place on Google Maps however. If you do want to use a postcode, we are actually in-between postcodes EX15 2HW (our neighbours at Mortimer's Farm) and EX15 2HN (our neighbours at All Hallows' Farm). You are best to use EX15 2HW and then follow signs for Blackdown Yurts once you reach Mortimer's Cross.

Directions from M5
• Leave the M5 at Junction 28 and follow the signs to Honiton along the A373 (left if travelling south on the M5 or right and around the roundabout if travelling north).
• Continue along the A373 for approximately 1 mile and turn left at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted left to Kentisbeare & Blackborough.
• Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare.
• In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndam Arms) on your left.
• Continue through the village and out the other side.
• The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn. Take the right turn.
• Continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads.
• Turn left at the crossroads.
• After 150yds Take the next right hand turning.
• Follow this up and then down the hill and after 300 yds you will reach a farm on your left and the driveway for Blackdown Yurts on your right.
• Continue along the A373 for approximately 1 mile and turn left at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted left to Kentisbeare & Blackborough.
• Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare.
• In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndam Arms) on your left.
• Continue through the village and out the other side.
• The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn. Take the right turn.
• Continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads.
• Turn left at the crossroads.
• After 150yds Take the next right hand turning.
• Follow this up and then down the hill and after 300 yds you will reach a farm on your left and the driveway for Blackdown Yurts on your right.
Directions from A303
• Leave the A30 at Honiton and drive along the High Street through the town.
• As the road splits into two lanes, take the right hand lane at the lights and turn right signposted A373 to Cullompton.
• Follow this road for approximately 6 miles.
• Just after the village of Dulford you will pass the Keepers Cottage Pub on your left hand side.
• Take the next turning on your right at ‘Post Cross’ which is signposted left to Kentisbeare & Blackborough.
• Continue straight and after another half a mile the road will dip downhill into the village of Kentisbeare.
• In Kentisbeare turn right as you reach the Post Office & village shop on your right and pub (The Wyndam Arms) on your left.
• Continue through the village and out the other side.
• The road straightens and after a few hundred yards bends to the left at which point there is a right turn. Take the right turn signed Pirzwell.
• Continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads (Mortimer's Cross) with Halsbeer Farm signed straight ahead and Blackdown Yurts signed left.
• Turn left at the crossroads following Blackdown Yurts sign.
• After 150yds take the next right hand turning, again following Blackdown Yurts sign.
• Follow this up, round to the left, then around to the right and down the hill through a narrow cutting and you will reach a farm on your left and the driveway for Blackdown Yurts on your right.
• As the road splits into two lanes, take the right hand lane at the lights and turn right signposted A373 to Cullompton.
• Follow this road for approximately 6 miles.
• Just after the village of Dulford you will pass the Keepers Cottage Pub on your left hand side.

• Continue along this road for about half a mile until you reach a crossroads (Mortimer's Cross) with Halsbeer Farm signed straight ahead and Blackdown Yurts signed left.
• Turn left at the crossroads following Blackdown Yurts sign.
• After 150yds take the next right hand turning, again following Blackdown Yurts sign.
• Follow this up, round to the left, then around to the right and down the hill through a narrow cutting and you will reach a farm on your left and the driveway for Blackdown Yurts on your right.
If you get lost...
If you do use a postcode in your satnav be aware that EX15 2HW will take you to Mortimer's Farm (and Halsbeer Farm) to the south of the yurts and EX15 2HN will take you to All Hallows Farm to the north-east of the yurts. If using the first postcode look out for our signs rather than follow your satnav all the way to Mortimer's Farm which is a dead end.
To find us from All Hallows the best landmark to start from is the rugby post. If you are facing down the hill with the rugby post on your right keep going down the hill past All Hallows Farmhouse, road will bear left, then straight, then left again, then sharp right bend. Soon after you will reach a scruffy looking farmhouse on your right and the turning to Blackdown Yurts immediately opposite on the left. To find your way to the A373 from here turn left out of the yurts, follow the lane round to the left then right and you will reach a T junction. Turn left, take first right signed Pirzwell and you will come into Kentisbeare village. Turn left at the post office in front of the pub and you will eventually reach the A373.
To find us from All Hallows the best landmark to start from is the rugby post.
