We are delighted to say that we now welcome well behaved dogs here at Blackdown Yurts. Historically they have never been allowed, mostly due to the livestock that we have in our surrounding fields.
However, now that we have our own dog, we know how important it is for you to be able to travel with the whole family and enjoy the wealth of walking and other outdoor activities available in the Blackdown Hills and elsewhere in Devon with your pooch.
We allow up to two well-behaved dogs per booking but we do have some strict regulations in place. Because we are in the middle of farmland, these rules must be adhered to. We have good relationships with the farmers who own the surrounding land, and we want to continue this. If we find dogs off their leads and consistently barking, it could result in you, unfortunately, being asked to leave.
Our full rules are as follows;
Dogs MUST be kept on a lead and under control AT ALL TIMES while on site.
There may be livestock in close proximity to the yurt field so if this will be a problem for your dog please do not bring them.
We expect you to clean up after your dog and dispose of faeces responsibly in the bins provided in the car park
Please do not allow your dogs to upset or annoy other guests (or their dogs). If your dog barks excessively or uncontrollably, they will not be welcome.
Dogs are not permitted on beds or sofas.
Please bring a dog towel to clean their paws before entering the yurts to help keep the carpets clean.
There is an additional charge of £10 per dog per stay. Simply select the number of dogs you will be bringing in the add-on section when booking online.
Dogs that are not under control will be asked to leave.
The policy of allowing dogs will be reviewed constantly and may be revoked at any time.
