A yurt is a traditional shelter used by nomads in Mongolia and Central Asia. They are also ideal for camping in Devon!
Traditional yurts from Mongolia consist of a wooden lattice covered in felt produced from their own flock of sheep. They are designed to be quickly dismantled and the parts carried on camels or yaks to be rebuilt on another site. Yaks are pretty hard to come by in Devon, so once ours are put back up each spring, they stay in the same place.
