Our yurts are set in a beautiful valley between the villages of Blackborough and Kentisbeare in The Blackdown Hills. A popular holiday destination it is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching from Wellington to Honiton and Membury.
The Blackdown Hills are a hidden gem often overlooked by people who escape to Dartmoor, Exmoor or to the Cornish coast. Tucked inbetween the M5, M4 and A303 routes into the westcountry the area is also easily accessed from all over the UK.
By day, hundreds of footpaths, river banks, ancient woodland, villages and churches are just waiting to be explored. We can supply you with maps and plenty of helpful suggestions. The area provide a wonderful opportunity for walking, cycling and horse riding.
There are plenty of excellent places to eat and drink locally, and we would be happy to share some of our favourite pubs and restaurants with you.
As the sun sets over the hill, solar lights or lanterns cast a warm glow, and outside each of the yurts a specially built fire pit is perfect for cooking food over an open fire, and swapping stories of the day as the embers burn down.
Beyond, in the dusk, badgers and foxes patrol the hedgerows, rabbits dash across the fields and owls circle the night sky, scanning the ground for prey….
