"A wonderful place to stay
We stayed here as a family with our daughters aged 6 and 4 and loved it. The yurts are beautiful, well kept and spacious with a brilliant outdoor kitchen and composting loo next to each one. Each yurt also has its own dedicated shower room and normal loo in the barn, which are well designed and spotlessly clean. The setting is beautiful and our girls loved running around the fields with some newly made friends from one of the other yurts. I’d thoroughly recommend Blackdown Yurts."

"Last weekend was our 5th visit, always great to be back and enjoy with friends and families. We first came on our own and since then, we came with our friends, took all 4 yurts. We cooked, ate, drank and sat together in front of the fire, kids enjoyed wondered around, played hide and seek. Last week was great with lovely weather. We had some rain other times, which didnt bother us, as we could all sit in the barn, using the kitchen (gas, microwave, fridges) with big table and a fire there. Mini kitchen and a toilet next to each yurt, with tap water (drinkable). Proper bathrooms are the bonus! All by all, a top top secret spot and it is our favourite place to visit, already planned to book for next year. Inside the yurts, there are comfy beds (very), with the fire! So you won't be cold even in spring or autumn night. Thank you for Katie and Mark for being a super host!!

"This was our second stay at Blackdown Yurts. Our first was last year and we had such a great time we had to rebook. This time we had changeable weather and it didn't matter. The outdoor covered kitchen and barn stocked with everything you need meant we were still able to enjoy the full outdoor experience. When the weather cleared up we were back to the fire pit and bbq whilst star gazing with the kids. Cannot recommend blackdown yurts enough. In fact we've already booked next year with the extended family as they have to experience it. Thank you Mark and Katie for being such great hosts. Joe and family"

Awards

Each year we are inspected and accredited by Visit England's glamping accreditation scheme. We are delighted to have been awarded their Gold Awards on numerous occasions.

We also won their Recognition of Service Excellence award in 2023.

We applied for the Visit Devon tourism awards in 2019 and 2020 and won Bronze in both years. We were also commended in the South West tourism awards in 2019-2020.

Be Authentic: Reviews must reflect a genuine stay at our property.
Be Specific: Provide details about your experience (e.g. cleanliness, staff service, location) to help others.
Respect Privacy: Do not include personal information, such as full names, phone numbers, or email addresses of staff or other guests.
No Commercial Content: Reviews should not contain promotional material, spam, or links to other websites.
Be Respectful: Swear words, hateful content, threats, or discriminatory remarks are not permitted.

3. Our Commitment (No Fake Reviews)

We do not create, purchase, or commission fake reviews for our property.
We do not submit malicious or misleading reviews about competitors.
We do not offer incentives (discounts, upgrades) in exchange for positive reviews.

4. Monitoring and Moderation

We reserve the right to report reviews to platforms (e.g. Google, TripAdvisor, Facebook, Airbnb etc) that violate these guidelines, specifically those that are fraudulent, fabricated, or malicious.
We will not request removal of a review simply because it is negative. We welcome constructive criticism.
